Four-star wide receiver prospect set to attend Penn State-Delaware game Saturday

Four-star wide receiver prospect set to attend Penn State-Delaware game Saturday

After 100-plus prospects made their way to Beaver Stadium last weekend for the game against West Virginia, this weekend’s recruiting list will look a little different Saturday morning. As we’ve seen over the years, Penn State often hosts smaller crowds for games against Group of Five or FCS opponents. This weekend will be no different.

While there will still be a few dozen prospects in attendance, the majority of them will end up being preferred walk-on targets depending on how their senior seasons turn out. However, there is one scholarship player who has confirmed he plans to be in attendance this upcoming weekend in 2026 wide receiver Elias Coke.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, Coke is no stranger to State College, visiting three times already this year. After attending a spring practice in April, the sophomore returned at the end of June with his teammates to participate in the staff’s annual 7-on-7 tournament. That performance was enough for wide receivers coach Marques Hagans to offer.

Despite just now starting his sophomore season, Coke has earned 18 scholarship offers to this point. He’s also visited six other schools, including Florida State, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Rutgers and UCF.

Just a few weeks ago, Penn State earned its first commitment in the Class of 2026, as running back Messiah Mickens, who also resides in Harrisburg, announced his commitment on Aug. 19. Although Mickens and Coke play at different high schools nowadays, they grew up playing youth football together.

“We were all on the same midget team at Susquehanna,” Mickens said in a recent interview when asked about his relationship with both Coke and 2025 receiver Lex Cyrus from Susquehanna Twp. “[Elias] decided to go to Harrisburg then and I went to Trinity, but we played together ever since we were young.

“Me and EC [Cook] have been best friends for a long time. I feel like I talk to him almost every day. I definitely want to play with him in college.”

Both Mickens and Cook are one of a handful of talented 2026 prospects within the Harrisburg region. Cook’s teammate, offensive lineman Kevin Brown, also holds an offer from Penn State. In fact, Brown just visited Penn State last weekend. Bishop McDevitt linebacker Maurice Barnes and Cumberland Valley offensive lineman Tyler Merrill were also in attendance for the West Virginia game.

Both Merrill and Brown already hold four-star ratings from On3. Barnes hasn’t been ranked yet but holds offers from Penn State, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan and Virginia Tech, among others.
