Four-star Oregon commit hoping to visit Miami as soon as this month: “Who wouldn’t want to go there”

Although Tampa Bay Tech (Fla.) Class of 2025 wide receiver Dallas Wilson may be committed to the Oregon Ducks, that has not stopped him from exploring all his options and looking into other programs, which includes the Miami Hurricanes.
The Florida native, who has been committed since March, has yet to visit Coral Gables but hopes to change that soon as Miami has shown a growing interest in the talented pass catcher early on.
“It’s an electrifying school, and it’s just Miami; like, who wouldn’t want to go there?” Wilson told CaneSport. “I want to go out there and go visit.”
Since being offered by Miami, the 6-foot-3, 180-pounder has developed a strong connection with Senior Quality Control Analyst David Cooney, whom he has high praise for.
“Coach Cooney is the coolest person I have ever met,” Wilson said. “I love coach Cooney, and I want to go out there and visit.”
Wilson, who is the No. 69 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, says that although he is committed, the Hurricanes remain among his top programs.
“I’m definitely interested in Miami,” Wilson said. “They’re one of my top 10 schools.”
As a sophomore, he finished the year with 40 catches for 875 yards and 12 touchdowns, which garnered attention from top schools around the country, including Miami. When asked what he looks for the most in a school, Wilson says the community around the program and a genuine connection are what he factors in the most.
“The community and how they bring me in,” Wilson said. “How a program makes me feel, what they do to me to get me to that point, and what would happen if, like, an injury occurred or something like that.”
Wilson says the next step in developing his relationship with the Hurricanes will be a visit, which he hopes to have happen in July or during the fall.
“I have to go visit,” Wilson said. “You can’t really get a feel for a school over the phone or social media, so I actually have to go down there to see what they’re all about.”
CaneSport’s take
While his commitment to the Ducks is still firm, Wilson has not shut the door on any program, which is great for Miami. “I’m still at a very young age, and my parents told me to look at all my choices and make sure that’s the right one,” Wilson said. The next step for the Hurricanes should be getting Wilson on campus and then go from there.
