Four-star Michigan State wide receiver Nick Marsh reflects on commitment, senior year goals

Detroit (Mich.)- The highest rated commitment in the current Michigan State 2024 class came from four-star, River Rouge (MI), wide receiver Nick Marsh back on July 7. Marsh committed to the Spartan, live from his high school auditorium, over finalist including Penn State, Pittsburgh, and Kansas. During the recruitment process, Marsh also picked up offers from Oklahoma, Tennessee, Michigan, Auburn, Oregon, and more.
Marsh is ranked the No. 119 overall recruit, the No. 22 wide receiver, and the No. 3 recruit in Michigan by the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings. The four-star created a lot of buzz when committing to Michigan State for the second time. The first commitment came last summer, following a commitment to SpartanDawg Con. Marsh then decommitted in May. The four-star wanted to take official visits to other programs and did not want to do so while remaining committed.
“The process was pretty fun, just seeing what I could have possibly been missing out on while being committed,” Marsh told SpartanMag.com “I just felt like it wouldn’t be right to travel while I was committed. That was the biggest reason for de-committing. Just to see what else is out there and be able to see other schools, their culture, and be able to know Michigan State is the right place for me.”

With just a little over a week since the announcement, Marsh has had some time to reflect on the final decision.
“I am feeling pretty good,” Marsh told SpartanMag.com when reflecting on his commitment. “I am just focused on the football team now. Helping guys get better, getting some other guys some offers. Just really focused on the season for real.”
“I definitely made the right decision. It is stress free. I am just more focused on football now. The recruiting process is over so it is a lot taken off my shoulders. I really enjoyed the recruiting process. Now that I am locked in, settled in, I have the opportunity to develop on the field and develop the other guys.”
Now, the Michigan State commitment can focus on his senior season and the River Rouge 2023 season.
“State Championship man,” Marsh said of his goals. “I want to go out with a bang with the guys. Get guys better, get guys offers, and get the best opportunities for my teammates.”
As for himself, Marsh is working on polishing up his game as well before enrolling early in East Lansing next January.
“Just getting faster, stronger, better footwork and just being a better version of myself,” Marsh said.
