Ashdown (Ark.) four-star athlete Darnell Williams currently holds three offers, but that is likely to change in a big way once one of the country’s top 2025 recruits hit the road beginning this weekend.
Williams, the No. 16-ranked athlete in the country out of the Natural State, is set to see five schools over the next few days. Those stops include trips to Florida State (June 11), Florida (June 12), South Carolina (June 13), Clemson (June 13) and Tennessee (June 14).
“It’s a blessing so far with schools calling to offer me,” Williams previously told On3. “I’m blessed to have those conversations with coaches and get those offers.”
Williams’ upcoming tour through Florida, Florida State, Clemson South Carolina and Tennessee comes after a spring visit to Ole Miss.
The Vols have been trending with Williams for several months leading into this summer’s unofficial visit.
“If you wanna play with the big dogs, then that’s the best of the best,” Williams said of the Volunteers earlier this spring.
The Arkansas native was in Oxford for March 20. The Rebels were the first Power 5 program to extend an offer in the 5-foot-11, 175-pounder’s direction.
“Ole Miss called me first,” Williams said. “They were the first school to tell me they want me there, to be down there and build a bond with the coaches.”
“Defense is my prime,” he added. “Defense at Ole Miss is legit and I like it. Derrick (Nix) is cool and calls me to get me down there. I need to get there to keep building our relationship and get close.”
Williams is the No. 260 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2-rated recruit in Arkansas for next year’s recruiting class.
