Thibodaux High School announced this week that Lowell Narcisse Jr. has been hired as the Tigers new head football coach.

“Let’s go to work!!!! GO TIGERS,” Narcisse posted on his social media account after the news broke.

Narcisse joins Thibodaux after a successful year at Ascension Catholic as a first-year head coach, where he guided the Bulldogs to an 11-2 overall record, a perfect 5-0 district mark and a semifinal appearance in his first season. The Bulldogs fell to Ouachita Christian, 24-22, to end their 2024 run.

Narcisse is a former four-star standout quarterback from St. James High School in the Class of 2017. He initially signed with LSU before he transferred to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College prior to the 2018 season when Joe Burrow joined LSU from Ohio State. Narcisse and Justin McMillan left LSU that summer leaving just Burrow and Myles Brennan as LSU’s scholarship QBs.

During his one year at MGCCC, Narcisse completed 44 of 98 passes for 506 yards with three TDs and three interceptions in limited playing time before he transferred to UTSA. In 11 games for San Antonio, Narcisse passed for 1,643 yards, 11 touchdowns and five picks. He ran for another 618 yards and four TDs.

Throughout his college and high school career, Narcisse battled multiple knee and ankle injuries. He missed his entire senior season at St. James after getting injured in the preseason jamboree. During his sophomore season, he completed 205-of-358 passes for 3,124 yards, 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions while rushing for 1,402 yards and 18 TDs. He converted 122-of-235 passes for 2,013 yards, 27 touchdowns and nine interceptions in his freshman season and added 637 rushing yards and 12 TDs.

Narcisse was going to suit up for Nicholls State after he left UTSA but his ankle was never the same after an injury and forced him to retire from football and begin his coaching journey.

Thibodaux struggled in 2024 and finished with a 4-6 overall record and 1-5 in District 8-5A play, which included losses to Hahnville, Terrebonne and Destrehan. Narcisse will replace Drey Trosclair, who led Thibodaux for two seasons.
