Florida rises in On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings

Billy Napier and co. saw plenty of success on the recruiting trail last year and the Gators are off to another fast start this cycle. With five commitments already in 2023, Florida added another commitment to its backfield Monday afternoon in West Point (Miss.) four-star running back Kahnen Daniels.
Daniels’ pledge elevated the Gators’ 2024 recruiting class to No. 4 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Penn State’s group, which also ranks No. 3 in the SEC, rose one spot from No. 5.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder is the No. 307 overall prospect and No. 25 running back in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 10 player in Mississippi.
On3 rates Daniels higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Daniels is the No. 280 overall prospect in the country, the No. 20 running back and No. 8 player in Mississippi.
Daniels’ commitment comes four days after he visited Gainesville for a second time. He’s also noted that he’ll take an official in June but has not an official date yet.
“The energy there was on point ever since I stepped into the building,” Daniels told On3 following the visit. ” “I really like how (running backs) Coach (Jabbar) Juluke really talks about me being a better person outside of football if I go there. He likes how I’m a very tough running back.
“They are going to be running three running backs this year, so I could work my way up to a starting job or into the rotation. He’s basically been telling me I will have a chance to play, but that’s not the only thing. It’s also about life after football and stuff like that.”
Daniels gives Florida its second 2024 running back commitment
Daniels commitment adds more depth to the Gators backfield as he’s their second 2024 running back commitment. North Palm Beach (Fla.) The Benjamin School four-star running back Chauncey Bowens committed to Florida in Sept. 2022.
Aside from what they’re building in the backfield, the Gators class as a whole touches several key spots.
Willis (Texas) four-star quarterback DJ Lagway is the highest ranked player in the Gators’ class up to this point sitting at No. 21 in the On3 Industry Ranking.
Florida’s other commitments include Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy four-star linebacker Myles Graham, Largo (Fla.) four-star linebacker Adarius Hayes and Nashville (Ga.) Berrien three-star safety Josiah Davis.
