Florida Gators set to host top-10 offensive tackle

When the dead period is lifted later this month, colleges will have nearly a week to reconnect with prospects before going back into the dead period for much of August.
One blue-chip standout who plans to take full advantage of that small window is Lewisville (Texas) offensive tackle, Michael Fasusi, a top-100 prospect in the 2025 class.
If all goes as planned, the 6-foot-4, 287-pound rising junior will be spending just over a day at the University of Florida. Billy Napier’s staff extended a scholarship offer on May 9, joining Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon and Tennessee among others.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Fasusi is the No. 8 offensive tackle and No. 46 prospect regardless of position.
“I’ll be up there on the 27th. I’ll be back home on the 28th,” Fasusi told Gators Online.
Fasusi is taking a wait-and-see approach with the Gators
That means the Lone Star State native will not be attending the Grill in the Ville cookout on July 29. He confirmed that shortly after providing the visit date above.
Regardless of the date though, Fasusi has plenty to learn about the Gators and is eager to become a sponge later this month. Much of that time will likely be with offensive line coach, Rob Sale, who came calling with the offer nearly three months ago.
“I don’t think I can say much; I’m still trying to get to know them, but from what I’ve been seeing lately, I like their recruiting. It’s something I look forward to when I get there,” Fasusi said of the Gators.
“I got to point out the education too. It’s something I’m big on and they got it.”
According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Oklahoma is trending with odds of 25.6 percent. The Aggies and Longhorns are not far behind though, checking in with percentages of 22.4 and 19.2, respectively.
