Florida Gators’ Grill in the Ville running visitors list

Florida Gators’ Grill in the Ville running visitors list

With the Florida Gators’ July 29 Grill in the Ville recruiting event just six days away, one thing is clear: Several touted prospects will be in Gainesville, Fla., that day.

Below, you’ll find a running list of players expected at Florida. This is not a complete list. We will continue to make phone calls each day leading up to the event. So more names could be added.

Here are a few notes:

-Four-star 2025 linebacker Elijah Melendez of Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola has been added to the visitors list. He’s the No. 26 junior linebacker in the country. Florida offered Melendez earlier this year and he attended the Orange & Blue game.

-As of today, it still sounds like 4-star defensive lineman LJ McCray of Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland will be at Georgia on July 29. He’s arguably one of the Gators’ three biggest remaining targets. Meanwhile, there continues to be optimism in Gainesville that McCray’s teammate — 4-star corner Zay Mincey — will be at Florida on the 29th. Alabama also is working to get him to town.

-New Gators commit Tawaski Abrams, a 4-star receiver from Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar who flipped from Florida State last week, can’t make it to this event because he has a team function that day.

-It’s unclear yet if 4-star tight end commit Amir Jackson of Portal (Ga.) will make it. It’s up in the air.

-Look for 3-star offensive tackle Ory Williams of Texas, who was on our original visitors list, to be at LSU on July 29. We expect him to be on the Tigers’ commit list in the near future.
