Florida Gators flip targets of note

As the Florida Gators build the 2025 recruiting class, several prospects committed to other schools are on their radar. And some of them just might be there for the taking. Here’s a quick look at notable Florida flip targets, along with intel on each:
***
*Hylton Stubbs, S, Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin — USC TROJANS: The 4-star USC commit called the Gators his leader for about a year before he committed to the Trojans this spring. Now, that pledge seems to be on shaky ground. Sources continue to tell Gators Online that Florida remains optimistic — even confident — about its chances of getting Stubbs. But Miami, which like the Gators hosted Stubbs on a June official, also is highly confident. Stubbs has said he plans to watch each of these programs closely this season before making a final decision.
*Malik Autry, DL, Opelika (Ala.) — AUBURN: If there is one program best positioned to flip Autry from the Tigers, it might be Florida. Yes, there was some chatter about the USC Trojans after a recent visit there. And apparently, he also enjoyed an official to Ohio State and suddenly that program has some optimism. But Autry has visited the Gators far more than those two schools and continues to return to Gainesville again and again. He’s extremely close with the Florida staff and sees the potential to play early in Gainesville. While Auburn continues to like its chances of keeping Autry in the class, some other programs think he’s gettable – and Florida is one of them. But … why does every school suddenly feel good about Autry after he visits it? You have to wonder, don’t you?
*Javion Hilson, Edge, Cocoa (Fla.) — FSU: After Hilson officially visited the Gators on May 31, he said they were right behind the ‘Noles and had given him something to think about. But then, he visited Texas and said that program had opened his eyes. Last weekend, Hilson was in Tallahassee and now he claims he’s shutting things down. Many of our sources doubt that’s actually the case. In other words, we wouldn’t close the door on this recruitment just yet. Hilson said in early June he planned to be at the Florida-Miami game.
*Solomon Thomas, IOL, Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines — FSU: After officially visiting LSU and Florida in early June, Thomas said those two programs weren’t far behind the ‘Noles. Yet following his trip to Tallahassee this past weekend, Thomas made it seem like he was all in with FSU. Per On3’s Steve Wiltfong, LSU might not be out of it. As for Florida, the Gators will look to get Thomas back on campus for some games then hope they impress on the field.
*Myles Johnson, LB, Brewton (Ala.) Miller — ALABAMA: Since Johnson officially visited the Gators on June 7, Florida has seemingly been in a good spot. Yet, Johnson also gave Ole Miss an official. While he’s still publicly committed to the Crimson Tide, he said earlier this month he hadn’t had much communication with that program. Since then, things have been fairly quiet. If Florida continues to push and Bama continues not to, then you’d have to like the Gators’ chances.
*Tavaris Dice, OT, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes — AUBURN: Dice likely is near the top of Florida’s flip target wishlist. And, there continues to be at least some optimism from the Florida side — especially after his recent official to Gainesville. Just one week earlier, Auburn had seemed to strengthen its grip during his Tigers official. But after his June 14-16 visit with Florida, Dice said the Gators had again closed the gap. Was that the visit high talking — or is this actually tight? We’d still give Auburn a slight edge but Dice appears to be a little torn.
*Tramell Jones, QB, Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin — FSU: Jones committed to the Seminoles more than a year ago, but he has visited the Gators unofficially three times since April. Florida has pushed pretty hard and he’s listening. But Jones has strong ties to the FSU coaching staff and that’s a hurdle Florida will have to clear. He officially visited the ‘Noles last weekend and afterward said he’ll have a final decision about his future in the next week or so. FSU has confidence it will hold on yet it’s doubtful anyone is certain what Jones will do.
*Jakaleb Faulk, ILB, Highland Home (Ala.) — AUBURN: Faulk, whose brother plays for Auburn, officially visited the Gators on June 7-9 and had nothing but positive things to say. But there hasn’t been any significant Florida chatter since that weekend. Alabama might be Auburn’s biggest threat.
*Dallas Wilson, WR, Tampa Bay Tech (Fla.) — OREGON: The 5-star recruit was supposed to officially visit the Gators on June 14, but he cancelled and went to Miami instead. Most view the ‘Canes and FSU as bigger threats to Oregon than Florida at this time.
*Ziyare Addison, OT, Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day — OREGON: The 4-star recruit committed to the Ducks in June — one week after he visited the Gators. Although he has given no indication he is anything but solid, we expect Florida to keep pursuing him.
*Ivan Taylor, S, Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange — NOTRE DAME: Taylor competed in a 7-on-7 camp at Florida in June, then returned recently for an unofficial visit. Alabama also is in the mix. There’s some chatter that Taylor might not be 100 percent locked in with the Irish.
