Five things: What makes Kansas State commit Brock Heath stand out

Five things: What makes Kansas State commit Brock Heath stand out

1.) Because of five-star tight end Linkon Cure and safety RJ Collins, four-star offensive lineman Brock Heath isn’t even the most recent Kansas State commit anymore. It didn’t take too much time for that to come to fruition. In fact, K-State is up to 13 commits total after beginning June at 3. After last year’s haul that consisted of highly ranked players Kaedin Massey, Gus Hawkins and Navarro Schunke, and now landing two of the best in the class in Heath and Will Kemna, it’s safe to say that offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Conor Riley has found his groove on the recruiting trail in Manhattan.

2.) How many more offensive linemen will Kansas State take after taking five a year ago (if you count Schunke)? The impression we have received is that the Wildcats would still like to sign four if it is the right four. A few have slipped away, such as Andrew Williams to BYU and Lucas Allgeyer to Iowa. Defeating Missouri for Keiton Jones appears to be a chore as well. All focus should be directed towards Midlothian, Texas three-star tackle Nelson McGuire. But it might be an uphill climb to top Texas Tech.

3.) Beating the Big Ten is no small thing, even if the schools are Iowa and Northwestern. Heck, K-State already lost an offensive lineman to the Hawkeyes in the 2025 cycle and lost an in-state lineman to Northwestern a few years ago (Nick Herzog). Defeating the pedigree in Iowa City, academic prestige in Evanston and the perception of the Big Ten is a nice win.

4.) Technician. That is best how to describe Heath. I just want the new Kansas State commit to be more consistently physical, nasty and mean. His high school head coach calls him one of the fiercest competitors he’s been around, and I don’t doubt it, and Heath is a home run if that eventually manifests itself to playing even more angry. Assuming the weight room stuff comes along, he’s a likely contributor in Manhattan if he builds and develops that dominating, overpowering mind-set.

5.) Heath is further along than most lineman from a technique perspective so that holds him back from playing much less than the typical offensive line prospect. Add his mobility and athleticism to the equation and he can play at K-State as soon as he gets stronger, meaner and heavier.
