Five-Star Plus+ Micah Hudson’s plans for the week ahead of his Texas visit
2024 Temple (Texas) Lake Belton Five-Star Plus+ prospect Micah Hudson, the top receiver on the Texas big board, just finished his official visit to Texas Tech and now has a big week ahead.
Hudson will head to College Station this week as part of a Lake Belton squad competing at the State 7on7 tournament. Before the Broncos get things going at Veterans Memorial Park, Hudson will take an unofficial visit to Texas A&M on Thursday per his mother.
The big question is, when will Hudson make it to Austin for his Texas official visit? Hudson’s mother told Inside Texas on Monday that Hudson will go from Aggieland to the 40 Acres this Saturday after the Broncos are through with 7on7 for his Longhorns official visit.
The vibes coming out of Lubbock have this recruitment trending Texas Tech’s direction, but Steve Sarkisian and Chris Jackson know what they have to do this weekend especially after hosting Hudson just before he flew out to West Texas.
Remember, the longer this recruitment stretches out, the better shot the Longhorns will have.

Micah Hudson made an immediate impact on high school football at Lake Belton. He had 466 receiving yards, 655 rushing yards and scored 12 touchdowns as a freshman in 2020. In 2021, he collected 45 receptions for 851 yards and nine touchdowns. Then in 2022, he was named District 4-5A D1 most valuable player. “He is electric with the ball in his hands,” Lake Belton coach Brian Cope told Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. “He is very, very fast. But the one thing that stands out to me is that he probably has the most incredible ball skills that I have ever seen.”
Hudson is ranked as the No. 6 overall prospect, the No. 2 wide receiver, and the No. 2 prospect in Texas according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.
On3 ranks Hudson as the No. 9 overall prospect, the No. 3 wide receiver, and the No. 2 prospect in Texas.
