First basketball portal visitor scheduled for April 18
Rodney Terry and staff will host the first transfer portal target for an official visit April 18.
Virginia transfer Kadin Shedrick is scheduled to make an official visit to Texas next Tuesday. The 6-foot-10.5, 230-pound redshirt junior will choose out of Duke, Texas, Missouri, Xavier and Kansas State as a graduate student with two years to play.
The Holly Springs, N.C. native made a visit to Duke Saturday, his first visit of the process. The Blue Devils are considered by some the team to beat.
Shedrick and family have engaged in a number of conversations with Terry and members of the Texas staff. This will be the first time Shedrick has been to Austin, and seen the Texas facilities and toured the university as a recruit.
There is a strong belief in the basketball offices at The Moody practice facility that the potential return of Dylan Disu and winning out for Shedrick would make a formidable front court in 2023-24 with two players that would blend and play well together.
Shedrick at Virginia
Shedrick started 15 games this season for the Cavaliers, and appeared in 30. His final game at Virginia was 15 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks in the upset loss to Furman. Shedrick has played in 76 career games, including 34 starts. He averaged 6.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots in his second year in Charlottesville. This past season, the former 4-star recruit averaged 6.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and .4 blocks per game.
