Fast-rising 2025 LB Parker Meese talks growing interest in Miami

After spending the last two seasons at Parish Episcopal School in Texas, Miami target, and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebacker Parker Meese has made the move to Florida ahead of his junior season.
With a move down to the national powerhouse that is IMG, the 2025 prospect’s move may not only be beneficial for him but also the Hurricanes, who are now just a three-hour drive away from the Texas native, whose interest in the Canes has been piqued since the coming down to the Sunshine State.
“They’ve been known as LBU for years, and they’ve had a lot of great linebackers come out of Miami for years,” Meese told CaneSport. “They’re just a known school, and they’re in Florida, which is where I’m at now, so that’ll also boost the recruiting for me as well. It’s just Miami; there’s not much more you have to say after that.”
Despite being unranked in the On3 Industry Rankings, Meese has reported over 30 offers from a plethora of Power Five programs, including Penn State, Michigan, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas, BYU, North Carolina, and Miami.
“I’ve got to see who has a lot of interest in me these last few weeks,” Meese said. “To me, the most important part is building relationships with the coaches. Everyone now has a great facility and those things, so that’s nothing that’s going to make a decision for me. So to me, the biggest part is building that relationship with the coaches and seeing how those coaches are going to mentally prepare me for the next level.”
As far as the Hurricanes go, Meese last visited Miami in April, where he got the chance to meet with the Hurricanes staff and take in all that Coral Gables has to offer.
“I had a great time when I went down there for the day,” Meese said. “I got to see the facility a little and talk with their staff. I’m starting to build a relationship with the coaches up there, and I had a great time.”
Miami’s linebacker coach Derek Nicholson and defensive coordinator Lance Guidry are who Meese singled out when asked with whom he had developed the best relationship with on staff thus far.
“I have a great relationship with the linebackers coach and defensive coordinator,” Meese said. “I’ve also talked to their recruiting staff, and they’ve sent me a lot of stuff and videos about all the stuff that they’re doing and what they’re all about at Miami.”
CaneSport’s take
Meese is an intriguing prospect who appears to be on track to have a big junior season at IMG this year. With an already well-established link to IMG, Miami may aim to use that edge as his recruitment progresses, among other things.
