Fast-rising 2025 IOL Peter Langi talks Michigan offer

On Sunday, Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter contacted 2025 San Francisco (Calif.) Archbishop Riordan interior offensive lineman Peter Langi to formally offer.

The Wolverines are the second school in the Big Ten Conference to enter the mix for the mastodon from the Bay Area.

“It was really good, man,” Langi told The Wolverine. “It was also unexpected. I just got a call and I was told that Michigan wanted to offer. I’m extremely blessed right now.”

After the conversation, Langi was impressed with what he had to hear from Minter.

“(Minter) was telling me a lot about the school and asking if I knew anything about them before,” Langi said. “We were just talking football and this upcoming season. He wants me to get down there and I do too. I can’t wait to learn more about them when I do visit. He said that he likes my game a lot and Michigan wanted to jump on the train and offer me.”

While Langi is still getting knowledge of the two-time defending Big Ten Champions, his early remarks of Michigan include its back-to-back Joe Moore Award-winning seasons.

“They do have a good offensive line and that’s what I really like about them already,” Langi said. “They have a good o-line coach (Sherrone Moore). It feels like a true o-line family there (laughs). It means a lot (to get the offer). Not everyone gets that opportunity to get better every single day so it’s a blessing. When trying to improve my craft and trying to get to the highest level, I feel like learning a lot of o-line material will help a lot and it’ll play a big part in my journey.”

Growing up, Langi’s hometown NFL team happened to have U-M head coach Jim Harbaugh running the show.

“I’m a huge fan of the 49ers,” Langi said. “(Harbaugh) coached team that I love the most. He did a really good job with them. Now, he’s doing a lot of great things with Michigan. I’m just trying to see what he can do for me, how he can get me better and stuff like that.”

Langi plans to visit Ann Arbor for the first time soon to experience the operations behind the curtain.

“I’m trying to get down there soon,” Langi said. “Talk football, see the campus and all of that good stuff. What I’m looking for is a school with good academics. Also, the pride and culture of a school. A great coaching staff too.”

Along with the Wolverines, Langi has notable offers from USC, Washington, Texas A&M, Utah, Ole Miss, Arizona, Washington State, Kentucky, Arizona State and Purdue.

At 6-foot-6, 350 pounds, Langi is not yet ranked by On3 but does hold a three-star ranking on another primary recruiting media service.
