Ex-Kansas player Arterio Morris enters transfer portal after rape case dismissed
Per On3, former Kansas and Texas player Arterio Morris has re-entered the transfer portal after moving from the Longhorns to Jayhawks last season.
Morris’ decision to leave Texas came after a coaching change that offseason with Rodney Terry officially taking over following Chris Beard’s departure at the beginning of the year. However, Morris had troubles of his own and was unable to play this season due to a rape accusation against him.
On Tuesday, though, his case was officially dropped, per ESPN:
“Prosecutors dropped a felony rape case against former Kansas basketball player Arterio Morris on Tuesday, citing insufficient evidence while filing a motion in Douglas County District Court to seek its dismissal without prejudice.”
Morris was dismissed by Kansas due to the allegations before the 2023-24 season began after he had transferred to KU last offseason. Shortly after leaving Lawrence, Morris enrolled at Garden City Community College but ultimately pulled out of there as well.
Now, he’ll try to get a fresh start on the basketball court next fall.
