ESPN’s Karl Ravech delivers all-time announcer’s jinx in Little League World Series final

ESPN’s Karl Ravech delivers all-time announcer’s jinx in Little League World Series final

ESPN broadcaster Karl Ravech might be the most despite man in Curacao after his antics during the Little League World Series on Sunday. He might’ve hit the country with the all-time announcer’s jinx, assisting California to a victory.

In a fun final on Sunday, California (El Segundo) and Curacao traded punches throughout the game. Then, in the bottom of the sixth inning, Ravech made a grave error — well, if you’re from Curacao.

Ravech made the comment in a 5-5 ballgame that Curacao “has not allowed a home run at the World Series.” So, what happened next? You guessed it.

Louis Lappe homered in the bottom of the inning to give California the win in walk-off fashion. He couldn’t have tried to be jinxier (is that even a word) if he tried.

Awful Announcing shared the clip from Sunday’s Little League World Series finale:

That will go down as one of the most incredible moments in the history of the Little League World Series. Both the walk-off home run and the jinx.

We’re not sure if Ravech believes in the good ol’ announcer’s jinx, but after Sunday, it’s hard to deny it, right?

Camera obliterated by foul ball at Little League World Series

Curacao’s misfortunate (thanks, Ravech) in the Little League World Series wasn’t the only time the country made news. In another game against Chinese Taipei, a batter absolutely demolished an ESPN camera.

The ball came off the hitter’s bat just right and one of the network’s cameras was located in juuust the right spot. The camera was absolutely annihilated by the baseball.

ESPN shared the footage of the play:

OH NO

This has to be one in a million pic.twitter.com/TNGvGRiw3t

There could be a million more at bats and you might not ever see that kind of connection again. It was truly something to behold.

So, to say the least, it was an adventurous time in the Little League World Series for Curacao. Some of it funny, some of it not so funny. But it was still a memorable run.
