Elite talent, top targets set to take in Tennessee’s Orange & White game
Tennessee will host its annual Orange and White game at 2 pm ET today, and there will be multiple recruits in attendance. Ahead of the outing, Volquest takes you through the list of visitors.
Talented Defenders Set to Headline Weekend
Tennessee is continuing to recruit some of the nation’s best defenders and there are going to be multiple high-level defenders on campus this weekend. No name may be more important than Lake Cormorant defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin, though. The top-35 prospect has been a priority for Rodney Garner, and he will have plenty of opportunity to learn more about the Vols this weekend, as he made his way into Knoxville on Friday and is expected to be in town through Sunday.
Joining Franklin are two other talented front-seven defenders in long-time Peach State EDGE target Kameryn Fountain and Alabama EDGE Jordan Ross. Fountain has been to Tennessee numerous times, and the Vols, who extended him his first almost a year before anyone else, will look to continue building momentum in this recruitment. Ross was last at Tennessee in January and will return this weekend before taking an official visit later in the summer. The standout from the Yellow Hammer state has been high on Tennessee for some time, as the Vols appear to be battling Georgia, along with several others in this recruitment.
Edrees Farooq will return to Tennessee for the second time in as many weeks as the Vols continue to show well in the recruitment of the talented defender from St. Frances Academy. Also expected in from the Northeast is Pennsylvania cornerback Omilio Agard, who has already set up an official visit with the Vols for later in the summer.
England ATH Emmanuel Okoye will take an official visit to Tennessee this weekend as well. He will see Georgia and Vanderbilt while in the states. He is an intriguing prospect that could play edge or tight end at the next level given his length and athleticism.
Other highly touted defenders that Tennessee continues to make strides with are also expected in attendance as long-time in-state linebacker target Edwin Spillman returns to Knoxville. Four-star Ohio EDGE Brian Robinson was just in Knoxville two weekends ago, but he is making a return trip this weekend to learn more about Tennessee’s defense and program.
Multiple high-caliber offensive targets expected as well
With two offensive tackles already committed in the class, the Vols are not done at the position, as they continue to work on multiple prospects. One of those guys is Ethan Calloway, and he makes his way back to town for the first time since January. This visit will go a long way in finding out where the Vols stand for him heading into the summer, as his recruitment has only intensified in recent weeks. Fellow Tarheel State offensive tackle Eagan Boyer will also be on campus today as well, and he could be one Tennessee keeps more of an eye on heading into the summer.
Also expected in town is top-150 interior offensive lineman Grant Brix. Tennessee offered the four-star in December, and he will get his first look at Rocky Top this weekend.
Commitments set to be in attendance
Tennessee will have several commitments in attendance this weekend as well. Long-time cornerback commitment Kaleb Beasley returns to campus again and will be a familiar face to several recruits that have recently visited.
Top-100 wide receiver J.J. Harrell makes his way back to Knoxville for the first time since he pledged to the Vols in February. Harrell is looking forward to seeing Tennessee’s offense in action.
Another long-time commitment that continues to make frequent appearances on campus is Carson Gentle, and he will be back once again this weekend as well, wearing his peer-recruiting hat.
