Elite OT Broderick Shull has three official visits locked in, teams vying for the fourth

Bixby (Okla.) four-star offensive tackle Broderick Shull is taking the next steps in his recruitment as spring turns into summer.

Shull visited a handful of programs in March, and he’s set to see Nebraska this weekend. With that in mind, he’s locked in three official visits and has a trio of schools competing for the fourth.

Auburn will host the No. 18 overall prospect in the 2025 On300 on the weekend of May 31, followed by stops at Texas Tech (June 14-16) and Texas A&M (June 21-23).

Nebraska, Kansas State and Illinois are the other three programs in the mix for his fourth OV, which will come the weekend of June 7.

Shull paying close attention to those programs

“For those last three teams, I’m going to have to investigate what feels right to me,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Like if I notice any red flags or what gives me a better feel if I were to play there. I’m going to be mainly focusing on those teams in the next week or so, and it’s going to be a tough decision because they’ve all been impressing me.”

Shull plans to see the Huskers in the coming day and then decide whether they will get the other official visit or if it will be one of the other programs. He only plans to take four, and a commitment decision could come soon after that.

“I feel like the all of these teams have really great facilities, all of them have good work ethic, good education, all of that,” he said. “I’m going to look at what kind of vibe the town or city gives me and if I want to stay there for four or more years. And I want to see if it feels stable enough — is a coach going to leave in a year or even three years. I have to look at that. I’ve seen coaches who will fake it in your face, and it can be tough to identify that but in some ways it’s not.”

The 6-foot-5, 275-pounder has been on campus in Lincoln twice before — once to watch a game as a fan during his freshman year and again as a recruit. He’s excited to see the program again and the progress on their facilities, a key factor in which school he ultimately ends up choosing.

“The second time I visited, they were almost done with the locker room and everything,” he said. “This time I think they’ll be done. Even when they just started building their facilities, I was so impressed with everything else. And I really like what the coaches are doing there, and the town and the campus give me a good vibe as well.”

More on other top contenders

Shull also broke down what stands out about the three schools he’s already locked in for official visits:

Auburn: “It blew me away. The facilities are one of the top in the country, and the coaches are really good. Other than that, I just got a really good feeling there. They have that southern vibe like in Georgia and Alabama, with the trees and it’s near water. It’s just beautiful down there. The towns around that give that hometown, small town kind of vibe, too. I got a really good feeling from the fans and the campus.”

Texas Tech: “I’ve been there four times or so. I love how they work together and how they’re basically family. Each and every one of them cares about each other, and Coach McGuire is one of the best coaches I know who talks with the players and works well with them. He was texting me today, and he’s the kind of guy you’d go to a bar and drink with. He’s an awesome, straightforward guy. He gives off the best vibes, and they’ll work hard. It was one of the most intense practices I’ve seen.”

Texas A&M: “They impressed me a lot too, and they’re striving for national championships. And they look like the type of team who will get that, too. They have impressive coaches from Duke and players too, and they’ve improved the team in general. Duke before those coaches came struggled a bit but once they were there, they really brought them up. I have good faith in both the head coach and the O-line coach, and they work well together.”
