Elite DB talks multi-day visit to Alabama

Alabama had one of the top ’25 recruits in the country on campus for multiple days earlier this week. Jaboree Antonie, the No. 3 cornerback per On3 Sports, took his first summer visit. He participated in the Tide’s football camp on Wednesday. The Louisiana native spoke about the trip to Tuscaloosa and high interest in the national powerhouse program. He arrived in town on Monday with his father and a teammate.
“The camp was great,” Antonie said after attending Alabama’s camp on Wednesday. I got to compete and take some things that I can now use to perform on the field from the camp.
“Alabama has a great coaching staff. It was great working out with them. They hold you to a standard to make sure you’re going 100% each rep. That’s what I liked about the staff; they push you to be great.”
Antoine noted he mainly worked with defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson, while also receiving instruction from Nick Saban. He felt held to a higher standard while working with Coach T-Rob, and was informed how great he looked after camp. The meeting with Coach Saban was also very memorable.
“Still thinking about it makes me excited,” Antonie said regarding his conversation with Coach Saban. “I’m just blessed to be in a position to where I can sit and talk with a all-time great like Coach Saban.
“He said I am a great player, but most importantly he stressed the academic part about Alabama. He said no matter what if you come to Alabama you will be successful in life beyond football; and kinda flexed that Bama has the most first round picks every year.”
Antonie considers Alabama the best program
Antoine will also visit Texas next week. He doesn’t have any early leaders at this point. He is not in any rush to make a decision. He called Alabama a “great atmosphere” with plans to definitely return.
“The coaching staff for sure,” he replied when asked what stands out with the Crimson Tide. “I feel like the best should surround themselves around the best. Alabama is where the best come from.”
“Just walking around, getting to see all the players that came through Alabama and all of their achievements shows why ‘Bama is considered the best.”
