Elite 4-Star St. John Bosco LB Sets USC Official Visit

Elite 4-Star St. John Bosco LB Sets USC Official Visit

One day while I was at St. John Bosco during the Winter of 2020, few Bosco coaches referred to LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa as the most talented player on the team. That was awfully high praise considering he was just a freshman when I first heard those comments. Plus the Braves are one of the premier programs in the nation.

Viliamu-Asa wasn’t able to play his sophomore season because of an ACL injury he suffered in the Spring. He tore his ACL in Bosco’s final game of the 2021 CovId-19 make up season in April.

But he made up for that lost season with a sensational junior season. Bosco won another CA State and National Championship last season.

There’s a Legit Argument for St. John Bosco’s KYNGSTONN VILIAMU-ASA Being the No. 1 Ranked 2024 Linebacker

June 2 USC Official Visit Set

Although USC is pursuing multiple 2024 Linebackers, Viliamu-Asa is priority No. 1 at that position for the Trojans. He’s also visited USC more than any other school. The local program has had the linebacker target on campus around half a dozen times.

“It is about staying home and creating my legacy at home. If I went to USC, I could have family at every game. It is a historic program and coach Lincoln Riley is bringing USC back to glory.

“Coach Riley has changed things quickly. Coach Riley, coach Alex Grinch and coach Brian Odom are the coaches I talk to the most. They want me to stay home. Location doesn’t really matter, but being able to stay home and play in my backyard and has some real meaning to it for me. It is something I have to think about.”

Now Viliamu-Asa has set his official visit to USC for June 3-5. Taylor Tatum and Zabien Brown are also set for that weekend.

Brian Odom’s Impact

Although Viliamu-Asa had a tight relationship with Coach Donte Williams prior to Lincoln Riley’s arrival at USC, one of the most significant changes in USC’s recruitment of Viliamu-Asa has been the emergence of Linebackers coach Brian Odom as his main contact.

“I talk to Coach Odom the most,” Viliamu-Asa said.”We have a good relationship and I’m supposed to go back up there sometime the last week of March. I’m just going to hang out, watch film and spend some time at USC.

“I can feel change and a lot of energy, especially at practices. It’s intense, high-tempo and things are headed in the right direction to get where they want to be.”

Official Visits

Viliamu-Asa plans to take all five of his official visits, but he only has a date set for one. He told us three weeks ago Oregon will get an official visit, but he told On3 National Analyst Chad Simmons Notre Dame and Ohio St. are definitely top five schools.
