Lucedale (Miss.) George County 2025 four-star quarterback Deuce Knight is still catching his breath after adding an offer from the back-to-back national champions.
Knight, the No. 28 overall prospect in the 2025 On3 rankings, added an offer from Georgia back on April 26. A month later, Knight is still in the wow phase of taking in the offer from the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs made Knight’s top 10 announced on Thursday.
“It’s still crazy,” Knight told On3. “They’re the national champions, back-to-back national champions. That’s probably the biggest offer you can get in college football right now, them or Alabama. I’m still thinking about it. It’s like ‘dang, I have a Georgia offer and that’s kind of crazy’.”
Georgia’s winning ways have Knight’s attention. He knows that the quarterback position is judged a lot, but winning is one of the key metrics for the position. Georgia gives any man under center an opportunity to win often.
“I have a lot of interest in Georgia,” Knight said. “They’re back-to-back national champions. That’s something you have to look at, especially playing quarterback. The main goal is to win.”
Knight has been working on building a relationship with offensive coordinator Mike Bobo. He’s also had a chance to talk with offensive quality control assistant Montgomery VanGorder.
The Georgia assistants have preached to Knight that they believe in his skillset.
“They tell me that I’m very important to them,” Knight said. “They’ve been saying they’re going to recruit me really hard.”
Georgia’s offensive system has Deuce Knight intrigued
Knight can make plays with his legs, throw on the run and make big plays in the pocket. The four-star signal caller feels Georgia’s scheme could be a solid fit for him at the college level.
“That’s very interesting,” Knight said. “If you watch a little bit of Georgia you can see you can get yards through the air and even run for touchdowns. That’s something that I do and you can see on my film.”
Knight has never been to Athens. He plans on changing that this summer. He doesn’t have a date set as of now but he expects to make his way to Athens to check in with the Bulldogs at some point in the summer. That will likely take place in June.
On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has in-state Ole Miss as the early favorite to land the in-state signal caller. The Rebels have a 41.7 percent chance of landing the four-star signal caller according to RPM.
