Nasir Wyatt has visited USC multiple times. He is in the process of scheduling a visit to UCLA too. Those schools are both close to home, but the four-star linebacker out of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei is looking at schools outside the state as well.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound soon-to-be junior is the No. 21 prospect in the 2025 Industry Ranking with over two dozen offers. Schools across the country are in pursuit and he is looking back.
“Two schools I know for sure I will be visiting this summer are Ohio State and Notre Dame,” Wyatt told On3. “Both of those schools are recruiting me hard, they have sent coaches to check on me at school and I am interested in both of them. I don’t have dates set yet, but I know I will take my first visits to Ohio State and Notre Dame this summer.”
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, USC is the favorite to land Wyatt. He is not planning to make a decision any time soon.
Wyatt is ready to see South Bend
Al Golden is the lead recruiter for Notre Dame. Wyatt has spoken with Marcus Freeman and Chad Bowden as well. The Irish are off to a great start with one of the best in California.
“Things have really taken off with Notre Dame over the last three to four months. They do a great job of recruiting me. They stay in touch as much as they can. The coaches will check in on me and my mom, they are showing me as much attention as they can and they really want to get me up to South Bend.
“I am ready to check it out. Notre Dame is a great school, I like the coaches a lot ad I cannot wait to see it.”
Ohio State’s production has Wyatt’s attention
The same can be said about Ohio State. Numerous 2024 and 2025 prospects at Mater Dei have the Buckeyes high on their lists and Wyatt is ready to get his first look at the Big Ten program.
“Ohio State has had coaches by the school this spring the same way Notre Dame has. They have been showing a lot of attention and Ohio State is a school that is always producing players.
“I have been talking to coach Jim Knowles a lot lately. There were some other assistant coaches involved at first, but now me and coach Knowles have something building. Ohio State is a top program with great coaches like coach Knowles and coach Larry Johnson. They produce players like Chase Young and I want to go up there, workout with the coaches and find out their plan for me.”
