EDGE Corey Amos rejoins Ole Miss’ 2025 class as 13th commitment

EDGE Corey Amos rejoins Ole Miss’ 2025 class as 13th commitment

Three-star EDGE Corey Amos has re-committed to Ole Miss.

Amos was actually the first pledge for the Rebels in their 2025 recruiting class. He announced in February

However, Amos and wide receivers Jerome Myles and Dillon Alfred all de-committed on June 24. Ole Miss this weekend is hosting its annual end-of-summer, on-campus recruiting blowout, ‘Juice Fest.’

Amos is the nation’s No. 520 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

“Ole Miss is very physical on defense and offense,” Amos previously told the Ole Miss Spirit’s Zach Berry. “The coaching staff led to my (first) commitment, and the style of defense they’re running. The style of defense Ole Miss runs fits my game.

“Pass-rushing is the thing I do best.”

Amos is the No. 46 overall EDGE, as well as the No. 15 recruit from Louisiana.

He becomes Ole Miss’ 13th commitment. Others include On300 members Andrew Maddox (four-star defensive lineman), Jarcoby Hopson (four-star linebacker), Keon Young (four-star safety) and Cortez Thomas (four-star safety).

“I like Ole Miss,” Hopson said of the Rebels back in the spring. Ole Miss won a program-record 11 games last season and is considered a College Football Playoff contender in 2024-25.

“I like the coaches. The energy there is great. The staff really recruits me hard; they hit me up almost every day. (Safeties) coach (Wes) Neighbors and (defensive coordinator/linebackers) coach (Pete) Golding are always recruiting me. They want me to come be that hybrid linebacker for them.

“When I’m there, the vibe is good, and I just feel the love from Ole Miss.”

On3 alone has four-star cornerback Maison Dunn as Ole Miss’ highest-ranked recruit at No. 141 overall.

However, he’s a On3 Industry three-star. Maddox is second at No. 184.

“They are developing players and they won 11 games last year,” Maddox said previously. “Me and (defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Pete (Golding), we have a connection. He recruited me when he was at Alabama. When he moved to Ole Miss, that brought me closer to him.

“My brother (AJ Maddox, QB) is going there, so that’s what also drew me closer to Ole Miss. (Defensive line) coach (Randall) Joyner is like a second father to me. He’s taken me under his wing and shown me around.”

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Amos holds additional offers from, among others, Alabama, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Mississippi State and Tulane.
