Dick Vitale mocks idea of Cooper Flagg returning to Duke: ‘I’ve got a better chance of growing hair’

The Duke Blue Devils are back in action on Saturday against the Stanford Cardinal. And as it as for much of the year, most of the chatter around the Blue Devils involves superstar phenom Cooper Flagg. There was an article recently in which Flagg said that he could be coming back to Durham next year. On Saturday, ESPN’s Dick Vitale scoffed at such a nation on the broadcast.
“A big story was publicized yesterday. Cooper says, ‘I think I may be coming back to Duke. I love it so much!’ “Man, I’ve got a better chance of growing hair than (Flagg) coming back to Duke. [Laughs] No way that’s gonna happen. No way,” Vitale said. “…There’s no question he’s obviously making good money with the NIL, but I tell you what, that check he’s gonna see at the next level is a whole other world. Can’t take a chance of an injury. Can’t take a chance.”
