Deion Sanders dances with Colorado super fan Peggy Coppom after Nebraska win
Colorado coach Deion Sanders celebrated Saturday’s win against Nebraska with one of the biggest Buffaloes fans there is, Peggy Coppom. The 98-year-old joined the CU football team in the locker room following the 36-14 home win over the Cornhuskers and was captured on video dancing with Sanders and the players.
Holding a football and a gold pompon while wearing a Buffaloes polo, Coppom got the party started with the words “play my theme music.” The Colorado team then broke out in song as Sanders stood next to Coppom and held her hand while leading the celebration. You can view the moment below.
Coppom is a lifelong Colorado fan who moved to Boulder in 1940 and has been a regular at Buffaloes sporting events since then. She has become somewhat of a local celebrity in the city while attending games with her twin sister, Betty Hoover, who passed away in 2020.
Now nearing 100 years old, Hoover has never wavered in her support of the Buffaloes. Sanders even selected her to begin the spring game with the opening kickoff back in April. It’s safe to say with the way the season has started, she has to be enjoying things as the Buffaloes have already surpassed their win total from 2022 with Saturday’s victory.
