Decision Day: Will Alabama land On300 cornerback Jameer Grimsley?
The Alabama Crimson Tide are a finalist for one of the top cornerbacks in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
Tampa (Fla.) Catholic product Jameer Grimsley, who is the No. 11 cornerback in the 2024 On300, is set to announce his college decision on Saturday. After hosting him on campus in April and then again for an official visit last month, Bama has earned a spot in his final three.

Who is trending for Tampa-based cornerback Jameer Grimsley?
All three of Jameer Grimsley’s finalists got him on campus ahead of his upcoming announcement.
Alabama hosted him for an official visit from June 16-18. Florida got him on campus for a one-day unofficial visit on June 20, then Michigan received the final official visit from Grimsley that next weekend.
With his decision less than 12 hours away, one school is trending for the 6-foot-2, 185-pound cornerback: Alabama.
Per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Crimson Tide have a 78.2 percent chance of landing Grimsley. That number rose on the RPM after Michigan recruiting expert EJ Holland placed a pick in Bama’s favor with 60 percent confidence.
As for why Alabama has remained a contender until the very end, Grimsley told BamaOnLine the following a couple of weeks ago.
“Bama is Bama,” Grimsley said. “The history behind it, you cannot not consider Bama, especially with everything they’ve been doing the past 10-20 years. They’ve just been putting dudes in the league as first-round picks… those dudes, they all want to go to the NFL. That’s what their plan is. You’re surrounded by like-minded individuals.”
Looking at his ranking, On3 is higher on Grimsley than any other recruiting rankings service. On3 has Grimsley as the No. 77 overall player in his class, as well as the No. 11 cornerback and the No. 14 overall player in Florida. No other service has Grimsley higher than No. 205 nationally in the 2024 class.
