Decision day looms for Ohio State cornerback target Miles Lockhart

COLUMBUS — Ohio State will find out in about 24 hours if it has landed the second cornerback in its 2024 class.
Four-star Chandler (Ariz) Basha cornerback Miles Lockhart will announce his decision on July 6 at around 3:30 p.m.
The No. 38 cornerback in the On3 Industry Rankings is choosing between Ohio State, Oregon, Wisconsin and Northwestern, among others. Lockhart holds 17 offers according to the On3 Database.
Even with the options, however, Lockhart is considered a heavy Ohio State lean.
He has visited campus four times with the fourth being his official visit. That’s noteworthy because that was Lockhart’s only official visit this summer.
He was scheduled to see a number of schools but ultimately canceled all of the visits — including the Wisconsin visit, which was supposed to happen the weekend before Ohio State.
The Buckeyes have recruited Lockhart for over a year now and first found him after he camped in Columbus last June. He was one of the more impressive campers that day and turned in a 4.4 40-yard dash that turned heads.
Should he commit, Lockhart would be the second cornerback in the Buckeyes’ 2024 class.
Four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville cornerback Bryce West was the first after he committed on June 24 during his official visit.
Lockhart isn’t the only other Ohio State cornerback target with an announced decision date, however.

Four-star Santa Ana (Calif) Mater Dei cornerback Zabien Brown announced he will commit on July 9, this coming Sunday.
Brown officially visited Ohio State the weekend of June 16-18. He was part of a large, star-studded weekend that had five-star prospects like KJ Bolden, Dylan Stewart and Eddrick Houston on campus. Brown, the No. 17 cornerback and No. 124 overall prospect according to On3, has USC and Alabama as other hats on the table for his commitment.
The Trojans are the commanding favorite for his pledge according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. They hold an 87.9 percent chance.
While the Buckeyes put up a good fight, I don’t see them winning this race.
Aaron Scott Jr.
Four-star Springfield (Ohio) cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. has a commitment date set for July 30.
The highly-awaited decision is between Ohio State, Michigan and Oregon. Truthfully it’s the Buckeyes and the Wolverines.
The Ducks were his dream program growing up, but Lettermen Row intel suggests that the distance from home is a major factor.
Ohio State and Michigan, however, are 40 minutes and three hours away from his hometown.
Scott took official visits to all three programs, but Ohio State had the final go.
This is an extremely tight battle between Ohio State and Michigan. Both programs feel good about where it stands with the No. 2 cornerback in the country.
And come July 30, one will earn his pledge.
