Dale Earnhardt Jr. makes Kyle Busch prediction for 2025 NASCAR season

Ahead of the Daytona 500 this weekend, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is forecasting how 2025 will turnout for a number of the top wheelmen in the NASCAR Cup Series, including two-time champion Kyle Busch.

Earnhardt Jr. and the rest of the NASCAR world watched last season as Busch’s streak of winning at least one race per season came to an end among a string of troubling performances. It’s been a tough road for the veteran following a torrid start with Richard Childress Racing, and he hasn’t been to Victory Lane since June. 4, 2023 at World Wide Technology Raceway.

Will Busch be able to get back to his winning ways in 2025, and return to competing for his third Cup Series title? Earnhardt Jr. believes he’ll at least head back to Victory Lane, but that’s as far as he would go heading into a new campaign.

“The thing with Kyle, I think he does get back to Victory Lane. He’s too good. Won too many races over the course of his career to not find his way back,” Earnhardt Jr. predicted, via the latest episode of The Dale Jr. Download. “But unless something changes dramatically, this will be the life for him. This is the way things are going to be for the foreseeable future.

“The one thing that I do like is what he’s doing — now, this is really off the topic a little bit, but I do like what he’s doing away from Cup racing. A little bit of everything. He got back in a Legends car. He’s doing things purposely to be able to enjoy time with Brexton. If he didn’t have all of that, I’d be really concerned for Kyle and what he’s doing on Sundays. But I think that since he has all this other really great things happening around him, with his family and his son, the racing that they get to do away from the Cup side, it’s kind of kept things in perspective for him.

“He can weather this storm until something changes. And that’s okay. I mean, I watched him run a handful of races this offseason, Tulsa and stuff. So, I think that’s what’s keeping him sane, to be honest with you.”

All told, Busch is receiving a ton of love ahead of another season in the Cup Series, especially prior to The Great American Race. The two-time champion is one of the betting favorites at the moment for one of the only races he hasn’t been able to win. A Harley J. Earl Trophy would put the perfect cap on an incredible career, as it’s the one thing missing from his resume, when you truly examine it.

With that in mind, Busch will roll off P21 when the Cup Series begins another season at Daytona International Speedway. We’ve learned though it doesn’t matter much where you begin the Daytona 500, but where you end up, and Busch will have as good of a shot as any to get the win on Sunday.

Perhaps Kyle Busch will make Dale Earnhardt Jr. into Nostradamus by getting the dub in the Daytona 500. Even if he doesn’t, it would be shocking to see him not end up with at least Cup Series win No. 64 this year, but KFB will be shooting for much more than that in 2025.
