D1Baseball Top 25 rankings overhauled again after another crazy weekend

Last week was filled with chaos and upsets across college baseball, and this past week was no different. Nine ranked teams lost their respective weekend series, which resulted in some more big movement inside D1Baseball’s latest college baseball top 25.

The top ten saw a trio of teams lose their weekends. No. 5 Arkansas took the first game of the series against No. 1 LSU, but the Tigers prevailed in the final two games to clinch the series win. No. 6 Louisville went 1-2 on the weekend against Notre Dame as well, while No. 7 UCLA went 1-2 against Washington at home.

In addition to Arkansas and LSU facing off, the SEC continued to beat up on itself. No. 3 Florida swept No. 13 Ole Miss, sending the Rebels to an 0-6 start to conference play. No. 12 Tennessee also swept No. 21 Texas A&M, while No. 11 South Carolina pulled off the sweep against No. 22 Missouri.

No. 14 Texas Tech had a tough weekend against Texas, with the Longhorns winning all three battles to earn the sweep. No. 2 Wake Forest also swept No. 17 Miami, solidifying their spot as one of the best teams in college baseball. The final series lost by a ranked team over the weekend was No. 25 Grand Canyon, who dropped two games against Sam Houston.

No. 9 Stanford has only played two games this weekend, with their series finale against Utah set to be played on Monday after the rankings have been revealed. The Cardinal won the first two games of the series, though, and the final game shouldn’t have too much of an impact on where they would fall.
