Coveted 2025 LB Noah Mikhail discusses Alabama offer, planning visit
Alabama has sent multiple coaches out to the West Coast this month as the program continues their hard work during the spring evaluation period.
Last week, inside linebackers coach Robert Bala stopped at Bonita High School in La Verne (Calif.). There, he dished out an offer to 2025 linebacker Noah Mikhail.
“I was really excited and ecstatic. Wasn’t expecting it,” Mikhail told BamaInsider. “Coach saw me work out and, obviously, it was what he wanted to see. Can’t wait to get to know Coach [Bala] more.”
Mikhail had spoken with Bala briefly prior to last Friday’s offer, but has been able to learn more about him through his high school coaches.
“My coaches actually knew Coach Bala from before. They always had great things to say about him,” Mikhail said. “They knew him in the Southern California coaching circle. Said he’s a great guy. Really down to earth. Great coach. So, being able to now be recruited by him is great.”
Per On3’s Class of 2025 rankings, Mikhail is the No. 43 overall sophomore prospect in the country. He also checks in as the third-ranked linebacker and No. 6 player in California in his class.
Alabama’s full staff will potentially get to see the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder in action in the near future.
“Definitely in the summer. I’m going to try to get out then,” Mikhail said. “Really just trying to meet the coaches. Build that relationship. Get into a little deeper conversation with them will be great.”
With over two dozen offers to his name, Mikhail isn’t in a rush to narrow down his options just yet. He’s waiting until coaches can start contacting him directly on June 15 to see which programs are pushing the hardest for him; after seeing who is prioritizing him, Mikhail will look into releasing a top schools list.
Although there’s no pecking order for Mikhail right now, he opened up about why Alabama is of interest for him.
“I’ve always heard great things about them,” Mikhail said. “Pinnacle of this football era. The top of the top. It’s an exciting time to be recruited by them… obviously, Coach Saban being there. He’s one of the best coaches to ever do it.
“It’s definitely intriguing wanting to be a part of program like that because of the background he’s had and how successful he’s been,” Mikhail added of Saban.
Mikhail says he will be at Arkansas next weekend to meet the Razorbacks’ staff for the first time. He’s eyeing a trip to Clemson this summer as well. At this time, the USC Trojans (30.1 percent) hold the lead for Mikhail on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Alabama fans, also be sure to join the discussion about Noah Mikhail on the Talk of Champions message board. There’s always a lot of great team, recruiting, and off-topic conversations going on. So, we look forward to talking with you all there!
