Colorado made a strong impression on 2026 EDGE Shaun Scott
Shaun Scott is a 2026 prospect to know out of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound EDGE is already stacking up offers and one is from Colorado. Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes offered the sophomore pass rusher back in January.
It is still very early in Scott’s recruitment, but he is already getting comfortable in Boulder. He visited two times in the off-season, then took in his first game this past weekend when Colorado hosted USC.
He liked what he saw.
“The atmosphere out there was electric,” Scott told On3. “The place was filled with famous people. That stood out and the open arms of the coaching staff making it feel like home did too. The facilities were beautiful also.”
Coach Prime is in his first season as the Colorado head coach and he has created a different type of buzz around college football. His team traveled to TCU to upset the Horned Frogs in week one. They handled Nebraska and Colorado State at home before dropping their first game at Oregon and losing a tough battle at home to USC.
Scott sees good things happening under Sanders.
“I’m very impressed with Coach Prime. He has definitely changed the program around for sure. The future teams may be dangerous.”
Colorado now has had Scott on campus three times. He has a good feeling for the environment Sanders is creating and he likes how welcoming the staff is. It is too for Scott to officially name favorites, but Colorado is one on his radar.
“This visit very much did leave a great impression,” Scott added. “I feel they will definitely be one of my top schools.”
The next visit on Scott’s calendar is to Penn State when they host Ohio State. He is also looking to take in games at Oregon and Washington this season.
