College Basketball: On3’s Week 16 Top 25
We are well into conference play across the college basketball landscape. As expected, there has been some fluid movement each week among the top 25 teams in the country. No team is undefeated, and Auburn is the only two-loss program on the list. The Tigers had a huge matchup this past weekend, as Bruce Pearl’s No. 1 team beat No. 2 ranked Alabama.
The week 16 version of the college basketball top 25 saw three programs introduced to the list, St. Mary’s, Maryland, and Mississippi State. Kansas is one of the three schools that dropped out of the ranking in this update. That makes traditional blue bloods Kansas, UConn, and UNC not currently among the top 25. Programs in the SEC are going through the gauntlet with eight teams ranked in this top 25, including five in the top ten, and a handful of others just on the outskirts of the list.
This list is how I see the twenty-five best teams in college basketball, after watching through the first 15 weeks of games. There is a long way to go in this season, and if these last few weeks of conference games are any indication, many twists and turns will surely happen along the way.
But for this moment, as we are inching toward the end of February, here are On3’s updated Top 25 college basketball rankings as we enter week 16 of the college basketball season.
