‘Coach Kiffin is one of the best offensive minds’: 2025 four-star quarterback Deuce Knight announces Top 10

2025 George County (Miss.) quarterback Deuce Knight is starting to narrow his scope in his recruitment. The summer circuit is upon us but before he camps on any college campuses, he wants to announce his top schools. On Friday, Knight dropped his Top 10: Tennessee, Notre Dame, Washington, TCU, Ole Miss, Georgia, Auburn, Texas A&M, South Carolina, and Oregon.

Knight ranks as the No. 85 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 6 quarterback and the No. 3 player in the state of Mississippi.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $179K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index which sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

The 6-foot-4, 190 pound southpaw spoke with On3’s Hayes Fawcett prior to releasing his top schools and gave his thoughts on each. He went into concise detail about what it is about the Rebels which has him intrigued.

“Coach Kiffin is one of the best offensive minds in CFB,” Knight said. “I talk to the staff just about every day and it’s the hometown school.”

Deuce Knight earned MVP honors at the Elite 11 Oxford Regional last month.

Afterwards, OMSpirit caught up with him to update his recruitment as he heads into another round of visits this spring and summer.

“Coach Quincy (Avery) said I had the best rating out here so I kind of knew before,” Knight. “I felt good just coming out here and competing against the best.”

The rising junior assessed his performance and gave himself a self-scout as well.

“I threw the ball well, lots of competition out here and a lot of talented guys,” Knight said. “I think I threw the ball well and I felt good running and in drills. Overall I think I performed well and think I showed out.”

Tennessee has long been thought to be a frontrunner for the 117th overall prospect in the 2025 cycle. But, the Rebels have picked up its pursuit of Knight and the latest trip to Oxford might put Ole Miss a little higher on his board.

“I’m just trying to get the camp schedule set up right now,” Knight said. “Just another round of visits are about to come up. I know I will be at Tennessee, Ole Miss, Georgia, LSU.”

Knight also went on to say the recent offers from Georgia and Oregon intrigue him and he expects them to be more involved moving forward.

“They are winners and that’s what I like. Georgia puts their guys in the NFL as long as you do what you’re supposed to,” Knight told Fawcett. “Oregon is kind of a dream school for everyone so I just really want to learn more about them and what they do.”

Deuce Knight recently unofficially visited Ole Miss and got to meet the staff in more of a unique setting.

“It was a good time. Me and coach (Charlie) Weis and coach (Fisher) Ray, we did some film time and sit in on a position meeting,” Knight said. “I had a really good time not only seeing how they interact and coach their guys but also just seeing Ole Miss in general. All one-on-one so it was good.”

For now, it would seem that Tennessee, Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Washington have the upper hand. But there’s plenty of time left for things to change. The Rebels currently lead Knight’s Recruiting Prediction Machine at 39 percent. The Vols are right there in second at 25.8 percent.

As a sophomore, Knight threw for 1,929 yards and 11 touchdowns in nine games. On the ground, he ran for 488 yards and 12 more touchdowns.
