Clemson makes strong impression on 4-star WR Braylon Staley

Clemson makes strong impression on 4-star WR Braylon Staley

Aiken (S.C.) four-star wide receiver Braylon Staley didn’t have to go far to have a good time over the weekend. He took his first official visit to in-state Clemson.

The Tigers showed Staley that the simple things make the day. Clemson targets were on campus most of the weekend. They made their way to a house on Lake Hartwell where they enjoyed a cookout-like experience. For Staley, that was big selling point.

“They kept it all on campus, they didn’t have to impress me with spending money, they kept it all on campus,” Staley told On3. “The first day, we went to the lake house. We jumped in the lake and jumped off the boats. That was a great time. We got back to the house and played games, we got to meet the other recruits. It was just a fun time.”

Staley was impressed with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney throughout the visit. Staley had the chance to talk with Swinney a good bit. Swinney came off as an energic and genuine person to the four-star wideout.

“He’s a great person, great coach, all of that,” Staley said. “He greets you every time he sees you and he keeps the same energy. I just know Clemson is a great program by that alone.”

Clemson near the top for Braylon Staley

Clemson was Staley’s first official visit. He’s holding out on naming an order. Staley wants to see other programs first. Miami will get the next official visit for the No. 131 overall prospect in the On3 rankings. Tennessee and North Carolina are also scheduled to get official visits from Staley this month.

Clemson did leave an impression on Staley.

“I really can’t say where they are but I know they gave me a great impression,” Staley said. “They are almost at the top.”

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Clemson up near the top as well. The Tigers are Staley’s top team according to RPM. The Tigers have a 22.3 percent chance of landing the four-star wide receiver at the moment.

Staley currently has a NIL Valuation of 88K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
