Class of 2025 LB Dominik Hulak returns to Iowa City

The last time that Class of 2025 linebacker Dominik Hulak visited Iowa City, he picked up a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes after their spring scrimmage on April 22. This weekend, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound Illinois native was back on campus for the Hawkeye Tailgater to learn more about the Iowa football program.
“Walking in, we had lunch with the coaches, so I was able to sit down and eat and catch up with Coach Wallace,” Hulak told HawkeyeReport.com. “Then we toured the stadium, had a photoshoot, and learned more about the strength program and the academic side of it.”
“What stood out to me about the program is how consistent it is,” said Hulak. “Like having only two head coaches in the past 50 years is amazing, especially right now when you hear about coaches constantly moving around. This shows that the program has been stable and will definitely continue being that way.”
Along with linebackers coach Seth Wallace, Hulak was also able to sit down with head coach Kirk Ferentz and introduce the head Hawkeye to his family, who were not on campus for the last visit.
“I was able to talk to every coach, but mainly Coach Wallace and Coach Ferentz,” Hulak said. “First, I met with Coach Ferentz in his office and we just talked football. He got to learn more about my family, since they weren’t with me when he offered.”
“I also sat down with Coach Wallace and two other ’25 linebackers in his office,” Hulak said. “He just told us about the program, the linebackers, and how the defense is run. What I took away from those conversations is that Coach Wallace will tell you a lot of things other colleges might try to hide from you.”
While it is still early in the recruiting process for Hulak, the Class of 2025 prospect said leaving Iowa City on Saturday, there is no doubt the Hawkeyes have impressed him thus far.
“Iowa is definitely somewhere at the top of my list right now,” said Hulak. “I’ve grown a strong connection with the coaches and program and I’ve loved it so far.”
A three-star prospect with an On3 Industry Ranking of 87.83, Hulak currently holds scholarship offers from Iowa, Notre Dame, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Purdue, and Louisville. Up next on his schedule will be a couple more Big Ten visits this summer.
“I go to Ohio State for a camp and a visit on Tuesday and then I go to Wisconsin July 29,” Hulak said.
