Wilson, who attends Holy Innocents in Atlanta, Ga., told Tipton that he will be in Auburn the weekend of Oct. 27-29. Auburn football hosts Mississippi State on Saturday, Oct. 28.
Bruce Pearl and the Tigers offered Wilson on Sept. 11.
Wilson also has an official visit scheduled to Stanford for Oct. 19-21, per Tipton. The five-star has taken unofficial visits to Alabama, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee, according to his On3 Visit Center.
“I’m a playmaker, someone who will help his team win on offense and on defense,” Wilson told On3.
Wilson knows what he is looking for in a school.
“I want to go somewhere that has a good fan base and atmosphere,” Wilson told On3. “I’ll want to play for a coach that believes in me and a program that has a culture. A culture of winning and a culture of getting better every day. I want to have good players around me and coached really hard so that wherever I go, I’m going to grow.”
As for the professional route, Wilson told On3’s Jamie Shaw that isn’t an option at this point.
“I have not talked to anyone from there yet,” he said. “I know they’ve come to watch me play thought. We’ve talked a little bit about that option but haven’t really gotten too far into it because it has to come first. But we’ve talked some about it.”
Auburn a contender, per the RPM
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) currently favors Auburn at 30%, but that likely will change as more official visits are scheduled.
Wilson is the highest-ranked recruit in the 2025 class to schedule a visit to Auburn. Other visitors, however, aren’t far behind in the rankings.
Wilson is ranked No. 4 overall in the On3 Industry Ranking. Five-star power forward Bryson Tiller, the No. 6 overall recruit in the Industry Ranking, and five-star shooting guard Jalan Haralson, the No. 7 overall recruit, both are expected to be on the Plains this weekend. Meleek Thomas, No. 6 in the ranking, previously was scheduled to visit Auburn this weekend, but will reschedule to a later date.
Wilson’s On3 Scouting Summary
Caleb Wilson has a great frame, good length and natural pop. He plays really well in a phone booth, efficient movements in tight spaces, shows the footwork to shake free with the ball in the half court. He needs to continue getting stronger, which will help his base and balance.
Wilson is explosive around the basket, has go-to comfort over his left shoulder with patience. He can push the break and plays with pace. He has a vast array of offensive moves, at multiple levels and is still learning his body and still gaining strength, this will only help his consistency. Tracking as one of the top players in his class.
