There’s less than a month remaining until the 2023 NBA Draft and Victor Wembanyama remains the surefire No. 1 pick. But with the combine ending recently, there’s still plenty of movement further down the draft board — as CBS Sports has addressed with a new mock draft.
The same constellation of players populates the Top 10 or 12 picks, with Alabama’s Brandon Miller and G League Ignite’s Scoot Henderson joining Wembanyama to round out the first three picks.
CBS Sports’ latest mock draft also includes six players from overseas or who played in the G League and 24 who played college hoops last season. Among college conferences, the Big Ten, SEC and Big East lead the way with five players from each conference mocked in the first round.
By school, Arkansas, Duke, UConn and Indiana each have multiple players mocked in the first round. None have more than two players projected to go in the first round by CBS Sports.
The deadline for players to withdraw their names from the 2023 NBA Draft pool is May 31. However, the first round picture is unlikely to change much from withdrawals as first-round players tend to stay in the draft.
The 2023 NBA Draft is scheduled for Thursday, June 22.
