Carson Hocevar shows off epic Dale Earnhardt truck he bought online

Is Carson Hocevar the biggest NASCAR fan to ever become a NASCAR driver? I’m starting to think he is after this recent purchase. Say what you want about the kid when it comes to his driving, but his passion for all things stock car racing is unmatched.
For those who don’t know, Carson Hocevar did start out as just a race fan. He made stop-motion videos with his diecasts and posted them online for years. Now, he’s in the real deal cars every week and pissing off the likes of Kyle Busch and Ryan Blaney. Not bad for a fan.
However, his most recent purchase shows that he is truly the real deal. He lives, breathes, and eats this sport. A fully decked out Dale Earnhardt Sr. 1997 Chevy 1500. Contingency stickers, the name rail, every little detail is perfect. Better yet, it’s street-legal.
This seemed like a joke at first. But I don’t believe it is. Carson Hocevar really went out and bought this truck. It was sitting down in Palm Coast, Florida, according to this reply from Nathan Chuck on X/Twitter.
Unless Hocevar is a good negotiator, he bought this Chevy for $19,850. The ad does in fact say it is sold. And it apparently only has 31,000 miles. Not bad for a 97 with all the perfect details.
Seriously, how can you not love this guy? I can’t wait to see what he does with this truck. He is always posting on social media and cracking jokes. Do you think he got a good deal on the truck, though? $20K is steep for a 28-year-old truck, but come on. It’s the Intimidator!
Oh, and before anyone gets smart, no – it is not a Mike Skinner truck. The Earnhardt namerail is very visible in the pictures. Shoutout to Skinner, though.
Carson Hocevar trying to intimidate the veterans?
While the finishes haven’t shown up for Carson Hocevar this season, he has been fast. The speed is definitely there. He dropped another five spots in the points after Homestead and now sits 27th going to Martinsville.
Overall, Spire Motorsports has shown great improvement. Michael McDowell is carrying the banner for that organization for the most part. But is Hocevar trying to intimidate his competition a bit? His aggressive style and seemingly indifferent response to criticism has put him in an interesting position.
If Hocevar can hone in on that speed he has and get himself to the front more often then he becomes a must-watch driver. The usual front runners don’t like racing with him. Too unpredictable and new. But sooner or later, they will have to learn to deal with him.
Now that Carson Hocevar has his Dale Sr. truck, look out. He might start having visions that he is the Intimidator himself. It might get him in more trouble than he is already in.
