Carolina Panthers waive ‘Thiccer Kicker’ Harrison Mevis

On Sunday, the Carolina Panthers waived kicker Harrison Mevis, leaving Eddy Pineiro as the only kicker on the franchise’s roster. After spending four seasons at Missouri, Mevis signed with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024.

Mevis, affectionately known as “Thiccer Kicker,” boasts unusual size for a kicker. At 6-foot, 240 pounds, Mevis has immense power in his right leg. Mevis is the all-time scoring leader at Missouri and all-time leader in field goals made.

Additionally, Mevis has the most 50-plus yard completed field goals in Missouri’s history. In Missouri’s nail-biting victory over Kansas State on Sept. 15, Mevis kicked a game-winning 61-yard field goal, which broke the SEC record for the longest field goal in the conference’s history.
