Cade McNamara battles past Utah State

Cade McNamara’s smile couldn’t have been any bigger when he was asked about his first pass in a game in almost a year. The Iowa quarterback dropped by and connected with Seth Anderson for a 36 yard touchdown on the second play of the game to put Iowa up 7-0.
The Hawkeyes, led by McNamara, then put together a more traditional drive the second time they had the ball and suddenly it was 14-0. In the fourth quarter, McNamara battled through his quad injury and once again found the end zone for a 24-6 lead before exiting the game.
Following the win, McNamara spoke to the media about his first pass in nearly a year and what that moment was like for him. He also talks about the run game and the challenge Utah State presented from a defensive perspective and more.
