Cade Beloso reveals major benefit of playing at Charles Schwab Field Omaha

LSU slugger Cade Beloso has been on fire at the College World Series. The senior is 5-for-9 in Omaha with a home run and four RBIs.
He delivered the pivotal hit for the Tigers in their win over Wake Forest on Wednesday, blasting a three-run home run in the elimination game, as LSU went on to keep its season alive.
Beloso spoke about his performance in Omaha and what it’s been like playing at Charles Schwab Field Omaha after the Tigers’ win.
“I mean, it’s one of the nicest fields in America, you know,” Beloso said.
The first baseman clearly sees the ball well at Charles Schwab Field Omaha, and it shows with his stats. He is on an impressive run and is a big reason why LSU is still playing. The Tigers will face Wake Forest in another elimination game on Thursday at 7 p.m.
With a win, LSU will advance to face Florida in the College World Series finals. With a loss, LSU’s season is over.
Beloso should be confident heading into the pivotal matchup against Wake Forest with the way he has swung the bat at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.
“The people, whoever constructed this field, put it all together, did a phenomenal job,” Beloso said. “You can see the ball good here. They’ve got bright lights and good bat side.”
Cade Beloso shares emotions of being one game from national championship series
Cade Beloso discussed his emotions of being a win away from the College World Series finals after the Tigers beat Wake Forest on Wednesday. Beloso is keeping the same mindset he’s had all year heading into the game.
“It’s just another game,” Beloso said. “We’re not going to make it anything bigger than it is. It’s the same game we’ve been playing since February.”
Beloso was the hero in Wednesday night’s win over Wake Forest. He blasted a three-run homer to right field in the bottom of the third inning, giving LSU a 5-2 lead.
It was a lead the Tigers’ bullpen would protect the rest of the way, handing the Demon Deacons their first loss in Omaha and, at least for a day, preventing them from reaching the national championship series.
Knowing that it has already won one game, why would LSU approach the third meeting with Wake Forest any differently than the first two? The Tigers were even competitive in their loss to the Demon Deacons, a thrilling 3-2 contest on Monday night that came down to the wire.
Beloso and company plan to just get out there and play some baseball.
“We’re going to go out there, have fun, we’re going to compete to the best of our abilities and let the rest take care of itself,” he said. “But we’re not going to make it some massive thing. Today, everybody knows the scenario. But you don’t have to put any more pressure on yourself. Just go out there and have fun.”
