Buzz Williams implores Texas A&M students not to storm court after upset win over No. 1 Auburn
As time ticked away on Texas A&M’s victory over No. 1 Auburn Tuesday night, the fans could taste history. The Aggies had never beaten an AP No. 1-ranked team in program history entering the game.
When the buzzer sounded, the students wanted to storm the court. However, Buzz Williams put his hands up imploring them to stay in the stands – and they listened.
Williams asked fans to stay put while the teams cleared the court. The public address announcer at Reed Arena also relayed the message as Texas A&M hoped to avoid the fine from the SEC for a court incursion. It’s safe to say, their please worked.
