Buzz heading into a big recruiting weekend at Nebraska
Nebraska coach Matt Rhule and the Huskers will host several On300 recruits and top targets this weekend for junior day.
Rhule and company are looking to showcase the program this weekend, the trajectory of the football team, and build equity with these coveted prospects regarding their respective processes moving forward.
On3 highlights who’s expected.
Nebraska hosting two committed elsewhere
Winter Garden (Fla.) The First Academy cornerback Devin Jackson is an early commitment to Florida but he’s been keeping Nebraska warm.
Jackson spoke highly of the Huskers at the recent Battle South Florida 7v7 event.
“Just being with Coach Addison (Williams),” Jackson said of what’s catching his eye. “He was at UCF at first but went and took a bigger role at Nebraska. Me and him have e a good connection and I’m looking forward to going up there.”
On3’s No. 4 ranked linebacker and Miami commit Jordan Campbell is also slated to be in Lincoln. The Miami Carol City blue-chipper has said it’s going to be tough to flip him from the Hurricanes but he’s been keeping steady communication with Nebraska and the Huskers are treating him as a top target regardless of position.
Big weekend in the trenches
Nebraska will have some of the top offensive and defensive linemen in America on campus.
Three four-star offensive tackles expected are Kelvin Obot, Gregory Patrick and Claude Mpouma. Obot was offered this past fall and Patrick received his offer in the fall of 2023. Mpouma made it to a Nebraska game during the fall and has the Huskers very high on his list.
Rhule visited with On300 defensive end McHale Blade this past week and now they get him on campus as they battle Michigan, Notre Dame and others.
Offensive tackle Rex Waterman has an early offer from Nebraska.
More top targets coming to Lincoln
On300 receiver Jabari Brady and On300 athlete Ryan Mosley are on the list. Brady is high on the likes of Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma and others while Mosley is starting to trend towards Georgia.
Two tight ends Nebraska likes a lot will be there in Luke Sorensen and Lincoln Watkins.
Linebackers the Huskers are doing well with are Kasen Thomas from Iowa and Jase Reynolds from in-state. Nebraska leads on the On3 RPM for Reynolds.
In the secondary, cornerbacks Dominic Turnbull and Danny Odem are two the Huskers love and safety Jacob Eberhart is one they’d love to land.
Defensive tackle Valdin Sone will visit this weekend instead of making it to Alabama. He played in the recent Navy All-American Bowl.
Quarterback commit Dayton Raiola will be back as well.
Good group of 2027s
The rising juniors expected include On300 running back Noah Roberts, another running back in Jeremiah Stonewall and in-state offensive tackle Matt Erickson.
Erickson attended several Huskers games this fall and Nebraska is already the On3 RPM favorite.
