Bubba Wallace desperate at Pocono, asks his team to ‘swing for the fences’

Right now, Bubba Wallace is struggling just to keep his car on the track and on the lead lap at Pocono Raceway. After a stage and then some, Wallace asked his NASCAR team to throw a hail mary of an adjustment.

This is a race that Bubba Wallace expected to do well at. Early on, that is not coming to fruition as the 23 car has major problems. The handling is off and Wallace is having a hard time controlling his car while also holding track position.

According to Jeff Gluck of The Athletic, Wallace asked his crew to “swing for the fences” on the next adjustment they make. At Pocono Raceway, you can play tire strategy and gain track position.

That is going to be the goal if they can get this car to handle well.

Bubba Wallace wants his team to “swing for the fences” with changes because his car is bad and undriveable. Says he they can make up the lost track position but they can’t keep going like this with a bad car.
