Bryce Underwood shares social media post about reported $10.5 million Michigan NIL offer

Bryce Underwood shares social media post about reported $10.5 million Michigan NIL offer

Michigan continues to take swings at flipping the nation’s top recruit, but those swings don’t appear to be landing.

Belleville (Mich.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood is the No. 1 prospect in the 2025 recruiting class and has been committed to LSU since Jan. 6, when he chose the Tigers over the program down the road. This fall, Michigan has been relentlessly working to chip away at LSU’s lead in Underwood’s recruitment.

Thursday night, Underwood shared a graphic from Football Forever that reads: “#1 QB likely to decline Michigan’s $10.5M NIL offer.”

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, industry sources told On3 in late October that Underwood was expected to land an NIL package valued above $5 million over three to four years, regardless of the program that lands his signature on National Signing Day. On Wednesday, The Wolverine’s EJ Holland reported the number he is hearing is “around $10.5 million over four years.”

If Underwood were to flip his commitment and sign a deal valued at over $10 million, Nakos reports that it would be the ‘hest-know financial package for a high school football recruit of the NIL Era, which started in July 2021.’

Underwood returned to Baton Rouge last weekend for his official visit to LSU. Following that visit, confidence seems to be building that Underwood will ultimately end up with the Tigers.

“Well, talks have certainly intensified with Michigan here over the last month — communication between Bryce and head football coach Sherrone Moore, his camp and the Michigan camp. I still sense there’s a lot more confidence on the LSU side that he will stick with his pledge to the Tigers,” On3’s Steve Wiltfong said on Wednesday. “He was there on his official visit this past weekend. Got around the guys again, got around the coaching staff. Brought several family members with him down to LSU.

“Talking to sources on both sides, I think there’s a lot more confidence that he remains with LSU.”
