Bryce James leads Sierra Canyon (Calif.) past No. 4 Grayson (Ga.) at Hoophall Classic

On one of the biggest stages of his high school basketball career, Bryce James delivered.

The new Arizona commit was lights-out on Saturday night at the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass. James put up 16 points to help lead Sierra Canyon (Calif.) to a 60-46 win over No. 4 Grayson.

James shot 6-10 from the field, including 4-7 from 3-point range. He had the Hoophall crowd in the palm of his hands with every made basket and also finished five rebounds and a whopping four steals:

Junior four-star small forward Maximo Adams led all scorers with 17 for the Trailblazers. He also had a team-high seven rebounds. Sierra Canyon forced 16 turnovers and shot 44 percent from the field.

Grayson was handicapped by a 34-percent shooting performance. Despite winning the rebound battle 37-30, the Rams failed to reach the 10-point mark in the first and third quarter. KJ Garris had a team-high 14 points. Star junior shooting guard Caleb Holt had six points on 2-13 shooting, nine rebounds and a game-high seven turnovers.

Sierra Canyon, the No. 41 team in the nation per the On3 Composite Ranking, is now 17-3 this season. The loss drops Grayson, the top-ranked team in Georgia, to 16-2 overall.
