Bosco HC Jason Negro on what makes Marcelles Williams special

USC landed one of their top overall targets, St. Johns Bosco cornerback Marcelles Williams, this morning.
The addition propelled USC into the top-10 rankings and is likely to be just the first of a busy stretch following the official visit weekend in Los Angeles.
Following his commitment, WeAreSC spoke with Bosco head coach Jason Negro about his star defensive back pledging to USC. As you would expect, he was very complimentary of Williams and gave his about as impressive an assessment you can give.
Negro has loved his time with Williams
Williams will be a four-year starter under Negro, so he was clearly was doing something right from day one, but Negro says Williams has been amazing in his time at Bosco.
“Celles has been an absolute pleasure to coach during his time here at Bosco,” said Bosco’s head coach. “His skill set and work ethic is simply off the charts. I am most impressed with his in-game intelligence and his want to always defend the opposing team’s best wide receiver.”
Williams has all the right traits to be star for the Trojans
“One of the things I’m really excited about is his development as a leader on our football team. He’s playing with so much confidence and is making the younger players around him better as a result. Celles is driven to be great and his practice habits, film habits, and weight room habits are all indicators that he wants to be elite heading into college.”
An extremely high compliment for USC’s newest commit
Negro is about as highly regarded as any high school head coach in the country. He has had numerous stars and big time prospects in his program, but he says that Williams is among the very he has had in his time.
“Marcelles has had a huge impact on our program,” he said. “As a four year starter he demonstrates everything we are looking for in a Bosco football player. We’ve had a long list of elite defenders in the 14 years I’ve been the head coach here and I can easily say that he is securely near the top of that list!”
