Blue Chips: Three Top 100 2026 QBs set to visit Michigan this month as dominoes begin to fall
*** The dominoes for 2026 quarterback recruiting are beginning to fall. Noah Grubbs committed to Notre Dame, while Will Griffin gave Florida verbal pledge. Today’s movement created an ideal situation for Michigan in its pursuit of Top 100 signal-caller Brady Hart. Notre Dame was considered the early leader for Hart, and Florida was high on his list as well. Now, Michigan has a golden opportunity to make a move with the Cocoa (Fla.) High product on his first visit on June 15. Hart is expected to stay in Ann Arbor until the 17th, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Michigan put itself in the pole position. As I’ve mentioned before, Hart is high on the wish list, and he’s a great culture and character fit for U-M. On top of that, he already has chemistry with 2025 Michigan quarterback Carter Smith, who is actively recruiting him to Ann Arbor.
*** While things are trending in the right direction with Hart, he’s not the only highly touted 2026 signal-caller set to come in this month. Top 100 Newbury Park (Calif.) High quarterback Brady Smigiel will be on campus from June 18-21. Smigiel has already visited Michigan in the past, but this extended stay will give him a more in-depth look at the program and allow him to really get 1-on-1 time with new head coach Sherrone Moore and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell. Michigan is in a strong spot for Smigiel early on in the process as well. The Wolverines would love to have either Hart or Smigiel next cycle. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Florida State and Oregon appear to be the biggest threats for Smigiel.
*** Top 100 San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills quarterback Troy Huhn will be making a one-day visit to Michigan on June 17. This will mark Huhn’s second visit to Michigan this calendar, which shows just how much interest he has in the Wolverines. Hart and Smigiel seem like the guys early on, but Huhn is right in the picture as well. Campbell saw him during the spring evaluation period, and the two have developed a really strong relationship. Huhn is visiting Texas this weekend, and the Longhorns are considered the early favorites in this recruitment. He is also considering the likes of Penn State and LSU, which is also in play for the aforementioned Hart.
*** Campbell has given himself a handful of other options in 2026 as well. The Wolverines are after Top 100 Folsom (Calif.) quarterback Ryder Lyons, but he seems more like a long shot. Top 100 Long Beach (Calif.) Narbonne quarterback Jaden O’Neal does not have a Michigan offer just yet, but he is set to camp with the Wolverines this month. On300 Frankfort (Ill.) Lincoln Way East prospect Jonas Williams has visited in the past and has program connections. He is very Jadyn Davis-esque. Three-star Argyle (Texas) Liberty Christian quarterback Quinn Murphy remains on the board as well.
