Blue Chips: Michigan seeing pair of Top 100 wide receiver targets

*** Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy is currently in the Lone Star State to watch Top 100 Katy (Texas) Jordan prospect Andrew Marsh at his spring game. Ranked as the No. 55 overall prospect nationally, Marsh already has five official visits scheduled — Penn State, Washington, Oklahoma, Texas and USC. Just because Michigan is not on that list doesn’t mean they are out of it. The Wolverines are working on bringing him for an OV in the fall. Marsh plans to take his time with the process, so Michigan would like to make their final pitch closer to his decision date. Texas A&M is another school in the mix here. His sister goes to school there, and the Aggies have a huge presence in Katy. Overall, Michigan remains in the mix here but still has some work to do.

*** Bellamy will be seeing Top 100 Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton wide receiver CJ Wiley on Monday. Georgia is trending heavily for Wiley with an 82.4 percent chance of landing him. I have an On3 Prediction in for the Bulldogs and still feel confident in that pick. However, Michigan is still trying here. Bellamy has a strong relationship with Wiley, and the Wolverines have had him on campus on multiple occasions. Getting him on campus for an official visit is must to have a chance. But even then, this one is likely an uphill battle. Wiley is a bigger wide out, which U-M desperately needs. But Bellamy and co. have a better shot with Quincy Porter.

*** Bellamy spent yesterday in Indiana and saw three-star Zionsville (Ind.) High wide receiver Eugene Hilton, the son of former NFL wide receiver TY Hilton. Hilton is another true outside wide receiver on the board. The Wolverines hosted him for a visit in the spring and are in the mix here. However, there are some guys ahead of Hilton on the board, and it appears Georgia is also trending in this recruitment. Hilton did visit in the spring, but I think we’ll know more about where he stands and his interest as the cycle progresses.

*** Bellamy also saw On300 Fishers (Ind.) High wide receiver JonAnthony Hall and put an offer on the table. Hall impressed Bellamy during his live evaluation and could become a name to get familiar with down the line. Right now, Porter, Marsh and Taz Williams are some of the focuses, but guys like Hall and Hilton could move up depending on how those recruitments shake out. Hall is a winnable prospect. His other notable offers are Iowa, Indiana, Purdue and Stanford.
