Blue Chips: Michigan a top school for key recruiting targets
*** Top 100 Katy (Texas) Jordan wide receiver Andrew Marsh named a final five of Colorado, Michigan, Texas, USC and Washington ahead of his upcoming decision, which is slated for Aug. 20. Michigan has the heavy lead for Marsh on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, and I still feel very confident in my pick, which I placed shortly following his official visit in June. Marsh returned for the BBQ at The Big House late last month and once again enjoyed his time in Ann Arbor. Both USC and Washington have given Marsh a lot to think about, but at the end of the day, I think Michigan has done enough here. Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy spent a ton of time recruiting Marsh and has built a special bond with him and his family.
*** Michigan made the Top 10 for On300 2026 Dectaur (Ill.) Mt. Zion tight end JC Anderson, who visited for the annual spring game and made a return trip to Ann Arbor in June. New Michigan tight ends coach Steve Casula is giving himself plenty of options at the position next cycle, but I’ve been told that Anderson is definitely around the top of the board. Casula is making Anderson feel like a priority, and I think the Wolverines are in the top half of his final group. Anderson is also high on schools like Notre Dame, Iowa and Penn State. Some out-of-region schools like Auburn, Florida State, LSU and Oregon are worth keeping an eye on as well.
*** Michigan recently made the Top 16 for Top 100 2026 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy offensive tackle Keenyi Pepe. Obviously, this is a huge list, so it’s tough to tell exactly where the Wolverines fit within this group. With that said, new Michigan offensive line coach Grant Newsome swung by IMG during the spring evaluation period and offered Pepe soon after. The two have continued to keep in touch on weekly basis, and Pepe told me that he plans on making a visit soon. Pepe is also close with 2025 Michigan offensive line commit Kaden Strayhorn, who has been recruiting him to Michigan. Florida, Miami, Oregon and USC are considered early leaders on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
*** Michigan is in the final four for Top 100 2026 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle Kodi Greene, who is set to make his decision tomorrow. Newsome saw Greene during the spring evaluation period and has quickly built up a relationship with him. However, Oregon is the heavy leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, and I have gone ahead and logged a pick for the Ducks.
